Everything you have to prove, and the certificates that prove it.
Certificates completed on a phone to the British Standards they are issued against. Accreditations, RAMS, COSHH, calibration and training in the same system. Jobs, quotes and invoices too, when you want them.
- 01Real standards, not generic forms. BS 5839-1, BS 5266-1, BS 7346-8, BS EN 62305-3, BS 7671, MIS 3002 — each with its own schedules and its own rules.
- 02One system for every accreditation. ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline, NICEIC, RISQS. Evidence recorded as the work happens.
- 03Priced per company, not per user. Take on an apprentice and the bill does not move. Client and subcontractor logins are free.
From £149 a month for the whole company. 14-day trial.
Produces the documents. Keeps the records. Chases the dates.
Three things, and nothing that is not one of them. Engineers issue certificates from site. The system keeps every record an assessor will ask for. And it tells you what expires before somebody else finds it.
Certificate software that follows the standard, not a template.
A BS 5839-1 commissioning certificate and an EICR are not the same document with different words. Each discipline has its own forms, schedules and pass rules.
- BS 5839-1 fire detection & alarm
- BS 5266-1 emergency lighting
- BS 7346-8 smoke ventilation
- BS EN 62305-3 lightning protection
- BS 7671 EIC, EICR, minor works
- MIS 3002 solar PV
- BS EN 50131 / 62676 intruder, CCTV, access
The maths is in the form
Maximum Zs looked up from the device and corrected for temperature, so a failing circuit is caught at the board. Your company Zs table is signed off, and editing it un-signs it.
Two signatures, kept apart
The engineer who tested, and the supervisor who takes responsibility. Signing from an email link requires the supervisor to be logged in as themselves.
Instruments that were in date
Calibration recorded against the certificate, and a certificate issued on a lapsed instrument is flagged. That question comes up at every assessment.
Boards you have done before
Save a board and drop it onto next month's visit. Cable, device and reference method carry over. Test results never do — a template cannot fill in a reading nobody took.
O&M manuals from the job
Pick the discipline, answer what the system cannot know, and the manual builds in your own house format — certificates in Appendix A, datasheets in Appendix B off the purchase orders.
Offline, because plant rooms are
Engineers work with no signal and it queues. Nothing is lost in a basement and nobody retypes a certificate in the van.
Grouped into three plans and one add-on.
Everything in a plan is switched on. No menu to price up and nothing important behind an extra.

Rail
One price whatever your size, on either term. Not loaded into everybody's bill, because most contractors will never need it.
- Safety Critical Hours register — four feeds reconciled into one

- Fatigue calendar and exceedance authorisations
- Close calls and shift reports from the phone
- RISQS CORS audit preparation, question by question
What the same ground costs elsewhere
A per-user field service system plus a separate H&S platform, at their published list prices in September 2026. For scale, not a feature-for-feature claim.
Terms, before you ask
- 14-day trial with your own data in it.
- Monthly rolling, cancel any month. Or a 12-month term for about 15 % less.
- No setup fee, no onboarding fee, no minimum seats.
- Change plan any month; the band follows your headcount.
- One price change a year at most, with 90 days' notice.
- Over 60 users, or a group of companies — talk to us.
Written for the trades it was written in.
M&E and electrical contractors
EICs, EICRs and minor works with the Zs maths in the form. Fire alarm, emergency lighting and AOV certificates to their own standards. Applications for payment with retention and CIS.
What changes first
Certificates stop being an evening job in Word, and the O&M manual is built from the job rather than reconstructed a fortnight later.
Fire & security
BS 5839-1 design, installation, commissioning, acceptance, modification and servicing. Intruder, CCTV and access control to BS EN 50131 and 62676. Six-monthly visits that book themselves.
What changes first
Every service visit issues a certificate and books the next one. Nothing drops out of the cycle because it was never diarised.
Rail contractors
Safety Critical Hours against the NR/L2/OHS/003 limits, fed by Sentinel turns, timesheets and shift reports. Fatigue calendar, exceedances, close calls and RISQS CORS preparation. The rail add-on in detail.
Why it matters
Nothing on the market prepares a RISQS audit, and the hours register is what costs a sponsor their approval when it is wrong.
Renewables & EV
MCS installer QMS with the scheme gates enforced, from customer commitment to the certificate within 30 days. Solar PV and EV charging manuals with the shutdown procedure the fire service asks for.
What changes first
An MCS assessment stops being a scramble. The registers the scheme wants are already there.
Anyone with an accreditation to keep
ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline, REFCOM, NICEIC. Calibration, training, talks, RAMS and KPI evidence recorded as the work happens.
What changes first
The renewal you forgot emails you six weeks out, instead of an assessor finding it.
Three things worth saying before you buy.
Built by a contractor, not a software company
Squareaway runs the business it was built in. That is why the certificates are right. It also means we are new, with no customer logos to show you yet — take the demo and judge the product.
Your data is yours, and kept separate
Each company's data is isolated at the database level, not by a filter in the application. Export everything, any time, in a format you can read. If you leave, you leave with it.
Not a simPRO replacement on scheduling
Service does schedules, job cards, recurring work and sign-off well. It does not do optimised routing or GPS tracking. If that is what you are buying, we are the wrong fit.
Questions people actually ask.
How much is it?
From £149 a month for the whole company on a 12-month term, which is the Compliance plan for up to ten users. Everything is £299. The band is the only thing that changes the price, and every user is included.
Is rail included?
No. Rail is a £75 a month add-on to any plan, the same price whatever your size. It is a different job from the rest of the system and most contractors will never need it, so it is not loaded onto everybody's bill. See the rail page.
Can I buy just the certificates?
Not on their own — Compliance is the smallest plan, and it includes certificates, O&M manuals, RAMS, COSHH, toolbox talks, timesheets and the whole core for £149. That is usually less than firms expect a certificates tool alone to cost.
Do you really not charge per user?
No. The band covers the whole company — office, engineers, apprentices. Client and subcontractor portal logins do not count at all. Per-user licensing punishes you for growing, and every contractor we have spoken to has trimmed licences to save money and then lost the record.
Am I locked in?
Monthly rolling means you can leave at the end of any month. The 12-month term is about 15 % cheaper if you would rather commit. No 36-month contract, no minimum seats, no onboarding fee.
Will it work with no signal?
Yes. Certificates, job cards, photos and signatures are filled in offline and upload when there is signal. Plant rooms, basements and risers were the reason it was built that way.
Can I move my data from simPRO, Joblogic or Uptick?
Clients, sites, site assets and suppliers import from a spreadsheet export, which any system will give you. Jobs, quotes and invoice history depend on what your current provider releases — tell us what you can get out and we will say honestly what will come across.
Does it produce evidence for ISO and RISQS audits?
It produces the records, dated and attributed, and reports over them. An ISO 45001 assessor asking for toolbox talk attendance, competency or calibration gets a report rather than a folder hunt. Squareaway does not grant or replace any accreditation — that stays between you and the scheme.
Who signs the certificates?
The engineer who tested, and separately a qualified supervisor who takes responsibility. You nominate who is a QS and their scheme number. Approving from an email link requires them to be signed in as themselves, and where both are the same person the certificate records that honestly.
Your own certificates on screen, not a scripted tour.
Tell us the trade and the size and we will go through the parts that matter to you. No sales sequence afterwards.
